45-minute activity

Now that you're a bit more familiar with the product, let's have you perform some actions that our educators frequently do. (Check out the Educator platform walkthrough for an intro to the product).

You've been added as an educator to the STS05 - Social Media & the concept of Beauty space in the Aula environment. (Don't worry, this isn't a real space. It's only visible to Aula team members to play around with and use for external Looms). To locate this space, check out this Loom.

Play the role of an Educator

Open the STS05 - Social Media & Beauty space to play the role of an educator 🧑‍🏫 and set yourself up!

  1. Update your profile picture: It can be any picture, it doesn't have to be one of yourself. Then, set your status.
  2. Create a post in the Announcements: The post can be of any kind (either welcoming students or creating a topic of discussion), add tags, and schedule the post's release.
  3. Create a Group Conversation: Add more than one person (this could be a mix of students and educators) and mute the notifications.
  4. Add a fellow Educator: Identify a member of the Aula team that is missing from the class participants (you may want to cross-check this list with the list of users in Slack) and add them as an educator.
  5. Create a Materials page: Create the page and schedule its release.

Create your first assessment

Educators in Aula have access to 2 assessment tools: Handin and Turnitin. Your task is to create an assignment (however simple or complex you'd like it to be) using one of the assessment tools. Good luck! ⭐️
